Where Is My Memory: Day 8

PostalXIII.jpgDear Diary: It’s been 347 days since I was supposed to receive my at least a gig of PC-3200 DDR RAM. My new motherboard is stranded in it’s box, malnourished, unused, thirsty for electricity. I don’t know how it’s managed to survive so long without RAM. I tried to talk to it, but it can’t hear me. It’s weak. Despondent. Powered down for so long under the hot Nevada sun. I don’t know how much longer it can go on. What’s keeping that supplier? He said he’d send it. Or is it those evil bastards at the United States Post Office? Or maybe it’s the fault of that unwashed Fedex Frenchie?

My new motherboard won’t speak to me. I’m afraid it’s comatose from exhaustion, hunger and DDR starvation. HOLD ON MOBO! Hold on as long as you can! You have to hold on mobo… you can’t let those bastards who are responsible for this travesty to win! Hold on MOBO…. hold on!

While I was waiting for my RAM trying desperately to get my new mobo to speak to me, I went to the store and found a copy of XIII sitting on the shelf on clearance. Cold, alone, unused (just like my new mobo) it was just lying there all pathetic like for $7. So I bought it and put it in the box next to the mobo so the two poor souls could keep each other company while I continued to whittle away the days, weeks, months and years for my RAM to arrive…

…and it’s supposed to be OCZ Technology RAM too. *sniff* I heard theirs is good stuff but will I ever know it? *sniff*

Hold on mobo! Hold on XIII! I can almost hear the delivery truck pull by… I hope it’s not Tom Hanks in that #$@!ing Fedex truck…

(The tragedy continues)

Well, Vinny, at least you are not waiting on your own memory to arrive. ;) Your new motherboard may be missing her memory. But, you still have yours. ;)

Sue: yes, I have a brain and I'm unfortunately for some not afraid to use it. That and a shovel. I'm not afraid to use that either. Oh, and don't forget the cows...
