A New Beginning for the Labmistress Boards and My Site!

Hello everyone! There has been major changes at the Labmistress boards, and my site that you should know about.

Darci and I have wanted to do something different with the Labmistress boards, and our respective sites for a while now and after discussing it, we finally decided that now was the perfect time to make some much needed changes. Changes which we both wanted to make our two sites the perfect complement to their respective owners’ visions.

As of now I have been granted ownership of the old Labmistress’ board that I have worked so hard on administering since the day we started it, making it more my own than ever. The posts and user accounts have been ported over to my site and the boards have a new name, The Navarino Unincorporated City Hall. It’s all running under new software (phpbb) and residing on my site while Darci is revamping her’s and has put up a new Labmistress board. One more focused towards what she wants her Labmistress site to evolve into, reflecting her beliefs and ideals as the “new” Navarino Unincorporated City Hall will come to reflect mine as changes are made in the coming weeks.

My board will focus on bringing people together from all walks of life, (computer users and non) in a fun, humerous and light-hearted way. A place where people can go and enjoy each other’s company without all the stress that so plagues other communities. Also its our goal to make this a place where everyone can come for computer help, newbies and hard core geeks alike. You can find it here at http://forums.navarinounincorporated.com.

Darci’s boards will be focusing on technology, and will be more focusedtowards security issues. It can be found at http://labmistress.com/forums/.

Since they are brand new, you will have to register to become a user.
This is an exciting time for both of us and we’re really stoked to do something different with our sites and adapting our sites to more accurately reflect us. We’re both excited, determined, focused and happy to be doing what we want, the way we want it, as only we could do it. Just in two different places, not pieces :-)

Again, you’ll find the ported over “old” labmistress board at my site:
http://forums.navarinounincorporated.com

Oh, and please remember to log in to the board with your old Labmistress LOGIN ID and password. Once there you can select your profile and change your account name to your old user name so everyone will recognize you.

Darci and I hope you will come to enjoy both our new boards and visit often. Enjoy! The future’s so bright we gotta wear shades! Boo-ya!

Shallow Graves

gravestone.jpgWhat happens when a group of women get together? If you’ve ever asked yourself what an alarming amount of estrogen concentrated in one apartment can do, here’s your answer:

Is everyone still alive over there or are the bodies at least
disposed of properly. None of that shallow grave stuff at a
locale that has lots of traffic, ok?

Hello,

We used up all of (name deleted to protect the guilty)’s lime, so that the bodies don’t stink from the shallow graves, as she lives in an aparment complex and loads of people will picnic on the corpses. But the woods are conviently located so we could carry the bodies out whole or in just a couple of pieces, instead of having to run them through the food processor first.

Independence Day and Then Some

Happy July 4th aka Independence Day to everyone out there! I hope that everybody is having fun this holiday weekend and are taking the time out to appreciate all that life has to offer. Like digital cable, broadband, good books, assorted domesticated furry companions, junkfood, going outside to defy that hanging fiery ball of glowing death with some friends and a complete lack of respect for those stupid public indecency laws. I mean if you feel decent than you are decent. Share what you have with the general public when you go out for the paper, robe or no robe; let them see for themselves you have nothing to hide…

Anywhoo I’ve seen a lot of movies ina short time, more than I normally do while as I’m house-sitting and watching the one, the only, pushy Stealth Bulldog™ for a bit.

Here’s a small list of the memorable ones:

Kangaroo Jack - Very funny. I thought it was going to be a very bad move but it was actually a hysterical laugh riot. Mindlessly fun.
Ghost in the Machine - anime. Not a bad story about a machine that gained sentience and wanted freedom.
Blue Crush - Water. Girls. Water and girls. What’s not to love? I’m reasonably sure there was a story about adversity or fighting your fears or something in this movie somewhere but…. did I mention there was water and girls in it?

Wind Talkers - Nicolas Cage in a pretty interesting war story based on the use of Navajo code talkers that were pivotal in winning World War II.

Now I don’t want to panic anyone but if you hit that Navajo code talkers link you might learn something. Which makes me wonder why the heck do people with blogs do that - I mean link to anything and everything. It’s usually trivial mindless dreck that no one cares about. If you look I’m reasonably sure that on some people’s blogs you can find those ultra-cool hyper-links on potatoes, bikini waxing, belly button lint, floor wax, the word the and let’s not forget linking to something important like stupid videos or cut to the chase with the stupid page. Word.

Notice no one ever links to Mensa or Particle Physics on their blogs? Coincidence? I think not… e=mc what?

C-c-c-changes

As some of you might know this little site of mine is going to be going through some changes soon. With the help of a good friend from Wisconsin / Michigan / Missouri I’m switching blog software as I run kicking and screaming the hell away from the horror that is Movable Type. I’ve had it with this clunker, I want more options, greater functionality, flexibility not to mention happier, easier times ahead. After looking through several alternatives I’m settling on a product called b2evolution, a free open source alternative to the probably fading MT dynasty.

And that’s not the only change coming soon. See this site I have is really empty, as my blog currently resides on Labmistress.com and I have all this space along with a wonderful hosting package that I’m not using, but that’s all about to change. My blog will soon be converted to b2evolution and reside on my site but that’s not the only “big” thing happening to this little corner of the web of mine. More details soon, let’s just say I’m not the only one making some massive, cool changes to my site in the near future. It’s going to be some exciting times all around I think as two people expand their horizons, make some hugely important changes and sail ahead onto new (and old) territories. It’s going to be a fun ride methinks; don’t worry you’ll all know what’s going down before too long… just follow the bulldozers and construction crews. Oh yeah, please remember the hard hats for insurance purposes as I turn this unused place-holder of a site into something even more worthy of everyone’s time than it is now.

In the meantime, Happy Independence Day peoples!

(The future’s so bright I have to wear shades…. boo-freaking-ya!)
