Back Amongst The Living!

Back Amongst The Living!

Bank VaultI’m officially a full-fledged member of society today. I’m back. A little stunned, happy and feeling a tad overwhelmed [at being back] but definitely back “amongst the living.” Some might have thought me poor but I had wealth beyond imagination; I had my family and buckets full of great and wonderful friends. Poor? Feh. I am rich beyond the dreams of averice thanks to them all.

A few short months ago I was a dude without a job, money, bank account and under the radar of Uncie Sam for not making enough to pay taxes in a looong time.

That’s all changed. I have a good job (in my field), great co-workers, and as of yesterday my first bank account in ages. With actual money in it too! Savings! Money in the bank. Moola. Deniro. Wampum. Woo-hoo me!

I went in just to try to get a free checking accont with a debit card for online purchases and wound up with a checking, savings account, low-interest credit card; all with no fees! Here I thought being destitute (without a tute) for so long meant a lack of good credit but apparently I have pretty good credit. See what happens when you pay your bills on time and have no outstanding debt, people?

Oh yeah, here’s the real funny; I and a friend get $60 for my getting all of the above from the bank. It’s a referral incentive program to get people to get other people to bank at their institution. So I was paid to get back into the swing of society. Cool or what? Boo-ya!

The good came so fast in so short a time that’s why I’ve felt a little overwhelmed. A happy overwhelmed. Heck, I even got my first cellphone EVER this week (sorry it’s for business only) and so far that too is on the list of blessings because it has yet to ring. Hehe.

(Sidenote: I know all that back stuff makes me look like some ax-murderer that was just released on parole or a coma victim that just woke up. Nope. Nothing to fear, it’s just that I haven’t had enough money to put in a pile in quite a while.) Ok, well yeah I have an axe but I’m not stupid. No linkie no convictee…

Pieces. I mean peace, people. Word out. Yo, Adriaaaann!

PPS. Thanks to my Mom, Dad, Bro aka “orphan", My Favorite Aunt and Uncle in the Whole Wide World™, Uncle Johnny, my entire family, Ann, Katrina, Loriann, Cathy, the Darci family and my coworkers. And David, and the Casey household and my friends in NY. Clap! Clap! Applause! Speech!

(Onwards and upwards.)

So this means you are no longer among the poor? Hmm, good idea. Where can I get something like that? Oh, and I hid the gun you used last week on that stray dog. Ooops! Now as for my time machine, I hope the parts were useful to you during the time of your poverty. All I got back from you was a few bits of metal and an IOU. :D
Ok Darci, say something, I know you want to.

Oh the injustice of it all! I get my hours at work cut waaaaaaay back, and you get rich! The insanity of it all. ;)

Congrats, Vinny! :)

Could you afford to get your brother off Windows. 3.1? He can't find a spell checker that works on that platform.

Thanks!

orphan: the only thing that's still a running gag from April Fool's day is you're my brother :)

reality: that is him with a spellchecker!

People: orphan boy over there really is one now, he didn't send his mother a card OR gift for her 65th birthday...

Your brother told me his spell checker works so bad he had to hire the dyslexic Chinese foreign exchange student from across the street and pay him 10 cents a post. His new budget only allows for 2 posts a day.

Tell him to try an imaginary trained typing ferret instead...
