Car Wars
Revenge of the Sith is coming out this week and in the height of geekdom me and my friends / coworkers / colleagues / barbershop quartet take half the day off to watch it! YAY! (The viewing is courtesy of a semi-popular operating system company, hehe).
Kinda makes up for my car being busted into and the dashboard ripped apart, eh? Well it sure feels better knowing I can get it fixed and Revenge of the Sith is coming out this week. See kids, damage to a vehicle can be fixed, a car radio can be replaced but LIFE is a wonderful thing and it shouldn’t be squandered worrying about the small stuff. Like objects, posessions, endangered species or people…
… oh and it didn’t hurt that the guys from Cox Cable came and repaired my cable line so my 4mb connection works consistantly!
SCORE!
Screw the vandals, Papa’s gonna get him a MP3 playing radio after it’s all fixed. See kids, it’s all about perspective.

The police here unless you're a government official or the pope have auto-theft down as a low priority crime. They don't dust or investigate when something's missing; just take down your information. Which boggles the mind why auto-theft and break-ins are so rampant here.

Darci came with us (the IT dept) to go see Star Wars. It was great (no spoilers here), especially to go as a group to see it. We were an IT member short but Darci volunteered to be our token Princess Lea, so it was all good. Microsoft hosted the free event (whoa, MS freebies!) and we got good seats and free concessions. MS agreed not to sue us if we make fun of them, so hey great concession! (rimshot)
It's been a full week of highly buggy and unreliable high speed internet access courtesy of Cox Cable. It's still off more than it's on and it's lucky if I get more than 1-2hrs consistant before it high-speed crashes and goes offline on me. Note: I say courtesy of Cox Cable because until they fix this I'm going to get a credit for the period of time it's not working (so far a week). But I'm sure the third guy coming today should be able to figure it out, so it's all good.
Car should probably be going in the shop this week to repair the vandal dash damage and after that I'm putting in the new stereo, some wireless cameras and a flamethrower...

Well yesterday morning it went out for 10 minutes (nothing uncommon there) and today there were a few DHCP warnings and T3 timeouts in the logs, but that's probably normal. Its looking good so far! I'll relax in a few days as long as I don't see the drops anymore (it was all week off more than on)

You need to protect your possessions the same way i do. A way the police will have no choice but to close the file on your thefts, after their "investigation". Simply run an extension cord from the ole homeswtead directly to the frame of your vehicle. Then when they try to break in they will fry while holding the door handle. The coppers will find their roasted corpse still holding onto the door handle (electricity will contract their hand muscles into a death grip on the door handle, preventing them from letting go till either their fingers burn off, or the coroner breaks their fingers to release their grip
