My Upcoming Dream System: Part III aka Ordered!

In the MailIt’s been a long time coming but I finally ordered all the parts for my Upcoming Dream System two days ago. YAHOO-ey! I thought this day would never come, seeing as I have been planning my killer gaming rig for oh, ages. Want to know what I got? Well, for that you have to wait until all the parts come in and I build this extravagent long-awaited beauty. Some of the choices I finally made might surprise you guys after all the talk about what components I was looking at. Suffice it to say that this sucker is going to blow so freaking hard those little piggies don’t have a chance… fraggeriffic baby! Ooooh-ya! Boing-boing-boing. Stella!

Vinnie,

At least you have the money to build your UGM, me, I'm still waiting for my $500 laptop (after rebates). Enjoy the high speed gaming and internet gaming you will do on the UGM. :)

Geek. Nerds are candy or a/v dudes. They lack the cool factor of computer chewy goodness, Gweep. Nerd back atcha.

Shannon: UGM got its lunch money stolen by my not-even assembled rig. Also pantsed. :)

Vinnie,

Perhaps by this time tomorrow I will be networked to my dad's high-speed Satellite internet (using the satellite up and down). No DSL yet, so my dad's connection will have to do for a while.

Vinnie,

Sucess, the networking cable to my dad's router works great. Now put together that bad boy and tell us if it works. :D

Shannon: cool to hear that it worked man! Congrats on the speedier connection.

I got good news today, all the other parts for my Ultimate Gaming rig arrived in Las Vegas as of 4:23pm today, meaning tomorrow it'll all be here! Woot! Woot! (a great website). The big thing is will I be tired enough from work tomorrow that I wait until Sat morning to assemble my sweetness? Hmmm... anyone want to take bets - Friday night assembly or Sat? Enquiring minds wanna know. Hehehe...

Bound to happen, good luck with the new machine my friend!!! :)

Thanks Giz!!! I will begin construction tomorrow (well today as of this writing but gotta go to bed shortly). Thanks to Darci and her spare PC2700 memory I will have my current rig working while I do my first "load windows" onto UUGM (Ultimate Ultimate Game Machine). I chose the ballsy approach, the only new drivers I dl'd were for the video card and latest mobo bios; there is a SATA driver disk that came with the mobo and since I'm using a slipstreamed XP I din't think I'll need floppy loaded SATA drivers to wake the virgin Seagate drive (but hey, if I do I can DL them fine in a few secs). Other than that I'm good to go methinks upon initial bootup. We'll see how it goes... hehehe... stoked. Totally $%#@!ing stoked!

I cannot honestly believe you haven't done a tribute to your hero "Montgomery "Scotty" Scott" aka james doohan who entered the last frontier several days ago............you are an embarassment to trekkies everywhere.
July 22, 2005 @ 08:34PM
I am mourning the loss of Scotty in my own way. I've built lots of high-tech gadgetry over this and last weekend. No finer tribute can be made by myself than the one in my mind for all the wonderful flights of fancy and interest in computers and tech that Scotty inspired in me growing up watching him on Gene Roddenberry's "wagon train to the stars".

You know the same feeling of inspiration you get when you look at your porn...

Vinnie,

Got the new laptop today. If there are any gaps in this, blame the laptop drivers setup. :)
July 25, 2005 @ 08:19AM
Oooh, cool man! Congrats on the laptop!
