Apple Bobs for WHAT??!!

Apple Switch Ad
A friend and great guy, Jim Louderback has a very funny and heartfelt article about Apple recently at PC Magazine. Read it here.
I emailed Jim back and forth a few times after reading it. If you think the title Boot Camp: Apple Bobs for Suckers is an eye-opener, wait until you read the article! Do you agree/disagree with Jim’s take on Apple’s recent direction? Enquiring minds wanna know! Please share your views.

(Jim Louderback is currently Editor-In-Chief and Vice President of Media Ziff Davis Media Properties including ExtremeTech.com, Microsoft Watch, and the websites for PC Magazine, eWeek and ZDM’s gaming publications.)

Modem? What's that? Oh, you mean that thing in most pcs that makes a noise when you plug it up to a phone line (dial-up). Thought that went out with President Clinton. :D

I thought it was Monica Lewinsky that went out with President Clinton...well, maybe not went out with so much as stayed in with under the desk.

MinnieTaur,

Shame, shame. You have a dirty mind, and you are Vinnie's adopted Sister? Vinnie, now I know where you get your twisted sense of humor from, MinnieTaur. Now it would be just like Gweeptish to just jump with a bit of witty sarcasm.

Vinnie, you and MinnieTaur have got to stop hanging around each other. BTW, I thought your sense of humor came from years of coding for a computer company. But I may be wrong. I developed Grand Mal Epilepsy after a 103 degree fever at the age of 2 or 3 (my mom isn't sure when), which gave me partial brain damage (which had to be verified by a psychiatrist in the Executive Inn In Paducah, Kentucky. I also have two nervous disorders that I take meds for (including the Epilepsy's meds).

And on top of that, I am the family IT/MIS and the advisor of all new tech gadgets. See the pressure? :/

BTW here's my official take on Macs running Windows. It's a hardware/software beta. If I wanted to run both OS's on an Apple, I want to have all the options I have under whichever OS I run. I need the kinks worked out, standardized parts, 3d graphics cards etc so that when I load windows there are no problems and everything is supported. In short, I need to be able to drop in anything a PC uses into the box (graphics card, scsi adapter etc) as if it were a PC and go. I think if they are committed to do this it will probably be at least a year away.

they want people to use OS-X. That will come pre-installed on the MAC. Installing Windows will be a pain and things won't work right. People will use the Mac/OSx combo more. Plus they'll then design OSx to run on a standard PC and make themselves a viable alternative to MS Windows. You'll have a Unix based OS thats light years ahead of Linux and has corporate support. Jobs is no idiot. Just playing it close to the vest.

Couldn't agree more!

Weird News Alert: there are people on the Net suddenly that are apparently going crazy because they think that a popular in print and online writer makes controversial articles on purpose to generate traffic and activity from said articles.

*gasp*

They're idiots.
