Are Mac Users Gay?

[Once again it’s time to answer all your emails, friends.]

Q: Dear Vincent, Master of the Universe and Dispenser of All Things Wise, can I ask you a question?
A: You just did my son, thanks for getting the ball rolling. NEXT!
Q: What is holding Linux back?
A: Linux users. That and the fact it isn’t Windows, of course.
Q: Why do Mac users lie in their commercials about the PC?
A: Because they hate Jesus, Billy.
Q: How do you drive women away?
A: Car, bus, taxi, motorcycle, onion breath, the truth…
Q: What’s the best Apple Switch ad?
A: The one where it switches to Windows.
Q: Do people really think people that download movies hurt the motion picture industry?
A: Well, popcorn sales are down. Stop downloading popcorn, people!
Q: Did Google really patent the Earth?!
A: No, I did; get off you pesky kids!
Q: Are all Mac users gay?
A: No, just the ones that have sex with men.
Q: Do all computer geeks like science-fiction?
A: Nope. (Some of them loved your sister though.)
Q: Did HP really kill your goldfish? Come on!
A: HP KILLED MY GOLDFISH! Hewlett Packard killed my goldfish! It’s freaking true *sniff* Sparky!!!! I miss ya, Sparks! (and they never apologized!)
Q: What’s your favorite game?
A: Life. Real life.
Q: What’s your least favorite game?
A: Watching people pretend they’re stupid over and over.
Q: How many fingers am I holding up?
A: Three. Now go do your homework.
Q: I went to a bookstore and couldn’t find the search bar to find the book I was looking for.
A: They’re called employees, genius.
Q: Are Dell’s specials a good deal?
A: They’re smoking hot! 4.8 million users can’t be wrong!
Q: What is your favorite movie?
A: Don’t remember the name, but there’s this donkey and a woman in it and no, it’s not a porno. Sorry to disappoint. Sickos.
Q: Will the MPAA prosecute the people downloading popcorn off the Internet?
A: No, that’s a job for Linus Torvalds. He’s in control of the kernals…

Sparky will be missed. Vinnie has his own list of stupid people FAQ. Bill Engvall would be proud. Now as for that talent thing, I have a talent (it's playing guitar people, get your minds out of the gutter, sickos). That is better than making a living as a wordsmith (which I have discovered, I can't do very well). Now vinnie, go juggle your baseballs, and you readers get your minds out of the gutter. Strange!
September 2, 2006 @ 05:33AM
Juggle? Baseballs? You must have me confused with someone else... also, I respect wordsmiths. It takes a lot of patience to whittle all those perfect O's in Cheerios.

I use a very sharp knife Vinnie. When the word processor stops working of course. Now for those real hard words, I use an anvil and a hammer (for those who shoe horses, you may understand that last one). Smile, life is short.

I smile often; it makes people nervous. That and the sledgehammer...

Keep the sledgehammer Vinnie. I may need to borrow it one day. Now as for Minnietaur, I haven't heard a word out of her. As for a peep, those marshmallow goodies are good with graham crackers and chocolate.

Good job vinnie. Now if you would send vicki the proper code for that action, she could do it again. Still no comment from MinnieTaur about Vinnie's blog entry. Is she afraid that after she comments there won't be anything else to say?
September 6, 2006 @ 09:43AM
What no one knows how to view source anymore? :) You have to use '< ' instead of '[' in the image tag.

Chris: Linux users aren't gay; they're just a tad more sexually frustrated than eunuchs.

As a long term Apple user I thank you for FINALLY clearing up that whole gay myth!!!!

You're nothing but a typical windows user trying to gain attention by besmirching Apple who make a superior computer and operating system with class and style you can't even dream of due to your limited mental capacity. You're just jealous and sad.

Macs4Eva: I besmirch all OS's, computers, people (living, unliving), real and imaginary things. In short, I besmirch everything and everyone equally. Nice use of the term besmirch though, kudos!

Chris: buuuurrrn! Good one! :)

accidently found this blog searching for linux. surprised to find i (unlike your last entry) have no balls. will tell my other eunuchs

ps hate you
September 8, 2006 @ 06:27PM
Nonono, please re-read. I didn't say linux users have no balls, just that eunuchs are less sexually frustrated than you guys.

BTW what's the matter with your shift key, still waiting for drivers for that?
September 8, 2006 @ 06:30PM
Comment from: Shannon Freeman
What's a shift key? Most people use the lowercase unless they are typing a letter or a novel. As for me, my keyboard has every driver that is needed. And don't ever get me started on Windows Vista uselessness. :D
September 9, 2006 @ 10:58AM
That is a wonderful keyboard, indeedy, Shannon! Now seriously, please do tell us all about Vista!!

Vincent,

You asked for it. Windows Vista is IMHO a useless upgrade, whether you are a gamer or just a computer user. Here's the fine points that make Windows Vista an expensive upgrade:
1. The amount of memory. Vista takes between 2-4 GB of memory to run Aero Glass.
2. The video card. Just to see Aero Glass on your computer (desktop or laptop) you need at least 256 MB of onboard memory on the video card (My recommendation would be to have at least 512 MB onboard memory on the video card).
3. The Processor, motherboard, etc. To run this new OS you have to have at least a 2.5 GB processor, a heat-draining processor, and a motherboard with SATA built in just to hold a 250 GB hard drive. Add all of the stuff you need on the mobo (8 USB 2.0 ports, 4 Firewire ports and two SATA ports, plus two EIDE ports for the older hard drives you may add to your new system). Now see how much your homebuilt system would add up? The memory alone is high right now, just imagine how much it will be after the Vista release.

This Vista release reminds me of the Windows ME release, out to make a quick buck just in case the early adopters want to buy it before the next Windows OS comes out in another year. Don't buy it unless you really, really need it. I said this about Microsoft's Xbox and noone listened until Xbox 360 came out, and by then it was too late. I don't want to hear your sob stories about how much you paid for Vista and that it doesn't work the way you thought it would.

If you want a copy of Vista on your new pc, wait until Vista ships for new computers and buy one of them or you will waste a lot of money upgrading your old system just to support an expensive version of Windows Vista (they call it Vista Ultimate. Yeah, you pay 400 dollars for that version of Windows Vista). Well you asked, so I told you Vincent Navarino. :D
September 9, 2006 @ 12:08PM
Thanks Shannon!

See kids, before you plan on upgrading to an OS that doesn't exist yet, try the beta releases to get an idea how your existing system will handle it. While some computers MIGHT run faster with a new OS that comes AFTER the computer is manufactured, the usual rule is that it will run slower. Why? Because newer OS's are not simpler but more complex and the more complex and OS the slower it will run.

Now my current UUGM should run Vista fine and peachy, that's because I have a fairly recent power rig. You kids might not be so lucky with that Celeron-based Dell.

If I run Vista on my Dell, will it explode on fire like it does with XP?
September 9, 2006 @ 03:50PM
Comment from: Shannon Freeman
Depends Chris. Is your Dell a laptop? And did you get the battery replacement for your Dell laptop? If your Dell is the latest desktop, then I would wait until Dell offers you a copy of Windows Vista, they like to piggyback some of their program and drivers in with a new OS. Hope that helps. :D
September 9, 2006 @ 04:44PM
I heartily encourage everyone to wait for the newer, heartier and more explosive replacement batteries from Sony... coming soon to a blaze near you!

No thanks, I have a whole laundry list of why I hate Linux:
1. Linux's gui, GNU, is so hard to master, that halfway through trying to learn it, I gave up and went back to Windows.
2. Except for Suse Linux, most Linux Distros are hard to install, and once you install one flavor of Linux, the command line is well, complicated. And I did not want to re-learn command line prompts, I gave that up when I switched from MS-DOS 6.3 to Windows 95.
3. Linux should only be used as a server OS, since in that capacity, it is harder to bypass than Windows or MacOS server editions. Sure you have FreeBSD and other Unix code out there for servers, but for the Linux crowd, Linux is more stable as a server OS.
NEXT!
September 12, 2006 @ 04:11AM
Heya Shannon! Linux uses KDE or GNOME as their graphical user interface, and I agree with you that the user experience like Mac vs Windows commonly takes time to adjust to. Linux is developed under GNU General Public License so that the source code for Linux is freely available to everyone.

Linux is more widely used in it's strength, the server market and in the quest to make it a desktop contender there are a HUGE list of distributions out there being developed to be an easier, gentler more graphical Linux (ie a Linux version of Windows, funny enough.)

While there is progress being made in a true desktop contender version of Linux; it's not here yet. To get even the easier to install versions of Linux like Ubuntu and Suse and get a similiar web and desktop experience to Windows requires power-users with lots of time and effort.

The good parts though is the development of good LiveCDs and Linux bootable disks that aid in the repair of other OS's like Windows; that and if you know what you're doing you can really let the power of your 64-bit dual core processors shine with the right distribution.

Linux is still far away to be a replacement to Windows or an easy OS for the newbie and the day it becomes either is the day it ends as Linux. Which will be a good thing. :)

Dittos Vinnie. We need an easy to use version of Linux that would play all games, not just some of them. For now, sad to say, Microsoft Windows and MacOX 10.something dominate the market.
And before you Mac fanatics try to slam me, yes, MacOS 10.something has FreeBSD Unix underneath it's OS. Now if more games would come out for Macs like they do for Windows, then you would see more Macs go out the door.
As it stands now, Windows desktops can be made on the cheap via do-it-yourself or homebuilt boxes with killer graphics, sound, and a sweet LCD or CRT Monitor. Your speakers can be bought anywhere, and you can pay as much as you want for them.
When Apple will allow you to put together your own homebuilt or do-it-yourself desktop pc for their MacOS, then I might make the migration to a Mac. If Apple can't get their desktop boxes out the door on the cheap soon, then the MacOS may be another OS competing with Windows OS (which we need BTW), and Itunes and Ipods will be all that Apple will make for consumers.
But don't quote me on that. :D NEXT!

There's a pattern to MSofts operating systems - Windows, Vista so the next one is Horizon?
September 13, 2006 @ 10:24PM
Comment from: Shannon Freeman
Good question chris. Will the next OS in a year or two be Horizon? And can Microsoft top itself in the next OS?
September 14, 2006 @ 06:01AM
Vista is technically "on the Horizon" so maybe the next incarnation will be dubbed Further Back Past the Horizon?

LOL Vinnie. Nice to see your clown face in the comments. As for Fox News, they aren't always balanced, fair yes but not balanced. I thought you would be watching for another Jim Carrey film or something. As for me, I already have a blog entry on my dog, Polar Bear Freeman.
September 17, 2006 @ 10:44AM
Calling it news isn't fair :)

I'm currently watching Deep Space Nine and then on to the old Battlestar Galactica series (w/Lorne Green). After that, perhaps some Voyager or Babylon 5 action. Yum!

BTW Shannon, sorry to hear about Polar Bear. Oh, and if you look on the right bar of my blog you'll find that I've added yours to my links.

As for the above entries, I was trying to give you a few blog ideas when you wrote an entry in the new year.
