YAY We're Back!

Yay! We're Back!Hello there folks, we’re glad to see you all today. The doors are open once again for humor, hilarity, hijinks and other things that start with h (except horticulturists, they’re creepy.)

To say it’s been a busy few weeks would be an understatement. In what little spare time I’ve had I’ve been busy repairing and upgrading computers for friends ($), non-friends ($$$) and myself (nada); had my blog software updated (thanks Ben!); wrassled with a new skin from scratch that fought me every step of the way; had a birthday, eat, slept and well - that’s about it. Oh yeah and the site was crushed by bots (server mugged) which meant heck, while it was down now was the perfect time to do that blog software upgrade I put off. Hehehe.

The blog would have been back up within a few hours if I just used any old skin but I just couldn’t bear to see the site look like it wasn’t my site. So even though I was really busy, I decided not to put it back up until I had the time to get it looking like what I’ve worked so hard at getting it to look like.

I’m really happy with the outcome, there are still a few possible design tweaks ahead, but it looks like this newer modern version of my skin worked out great and I’m a very happy boy/camper/wack-job…

I really can’t say enough good things about EZOSHosting, my site’s hosting company. Sascha and crew are so durned good at what they do the site was back up in no time after the bot-muggin, no data was lost, everything was up and once they heard I was going to have the blog software updated, offered to help with it if needed. These guys are beyond gold to me and loved as much as a man can love one’s hosting provider sans restraining orders and cries for help.

Speaking of people that are beyond gold to me, I offer you all Ben Franske of Ben Franske fame. Ben, who travels so much some people don’t know if he’s from Wisconsin, Minnesota, Michigan or just keeping one-step ahead of people who are trying to find him, upgraded my blog faster than anyone could ask “hey, can you upgrade my blog?” Simple thanks are not enough for this lad, but hey, thanks Ben! Times a billion! Ladies - if you’re looking for a good catch, he’s single… and right now grinning with that classic a little embarassed but still grinning grin. *grin*

Now that I wrestled this new skin into submission, the lights are on, the tea is brewed and it’s time to munch on some oatmeal raisin cookies and gab. Enjoy!

Hi Vinny,

the random fact of the day:
I met Kevin Mitnick in Leipzig, Germany last week. When we talked about the people in the community of labmistress.com I asked him: "How is Vincent Navarino in real life?"

His reply was:
"Vincent. (several seconds of silence). Ahhhh, Vinny!!! *laugh* *gulp* *laugh even harder*"
After he finally managed to stop laughing, he continued: "Vinny is great!"

Vinnie, I got a blog on Blogger, which is owned by Google. Noone looked at my old one, so I dropped it. Now what happened to you while the blog was down really? I know it must've involved some dancing llamas.

You know what new pc I got before Christmas 2006. Well it's an Emachines T5048 which I updated to 2 GB RAM and a ATI Radeon X1300 512 MB PCI Express video card (whew that was a mouthful). Well, see you one of these days in here. Smile, this is supposed to be fun.

While the blog was down the dancing llamas made their appearance anytime I made a CSS change to the skin and it worked. I think I saw them twice... good to hear about your PC, sounds nice! Me I just upgraded my backup computer for $100 and am happy happy with the results. The blog was updated too and I'm even happier w/that result. It's got way more possibilities than the old one. Yum-yum!

True Vinnie. You can put comments in the post. Cool. Now what do you feed dancing llamas? Tomorrow is the the day I hate the most. Valentine's Day! BAH! HUMBUG!

Hardey-har-har, Shannon :) Comments in posts... good one, dude!

What do I feed the dancing llamas?! Why the question alone makes it sound like I'd be a bad llama snuggler and feed them anything other than the best, organic kittens dipped in Cheez-Wiz. *gasp* I'm a good llama snuggler man! A good llama snuggler... oooh... so... soft... so... uhmmmm....

lovely job, m'dear! Good to see you are back up and running. I'm impressed with the skin-making. Haven't been brave enough to try that myself, but now I may give it a try :D
February 16, 2007 @ 07:24AM
Heya Vicki! Thanks! A few people know the funny story about me and skins; how much effort I go through to make it look like nothing has changed (as well as my wonderfully accurate portrayal of a person with touretts as I do so). One day I'll air the "lost footage" :)

Vinnie,

When is the new blog post? No ideas yet? Hmm, just look out the door, I'm sure a neurotic person like yourself could come up with something. Oh well, at least I can post this in the comments line UNDER the blog post because of the new skins. :D Later!
February 23, 2007 @ 09:29AM
Wait a sec, you people out there actually thought with all the busy going on and taking lotsa time to get the skin looking just right that I was going to keep posting?! New stuff? what the... see, I was just putting it back up as a nod to history *whistles Man of La Moncha*

(hoping like kelp someone buys this and the 3 bridges I have in the closet)
