Into the Blogosphere: Day 4

One of the other great and so obvious only idjits missed it techniques of the daily bloggers to add content to their sites is to poll the readers about stuff no one really cares about like “What browser do you use?","How many Mhz is your computer", “Do you prefer a mouse or a trackball?” or the ever important “Why won’t you die when I stab you 957 times with a rusty ax?!”

This technique is subtly different than the previous example of ‘help me make a decision I already made.” The subtle difference? One is a question seeking answers and the other is a question seeking decisions. If I just went too fast for you, then you’re just the reader a daily blatherer, uh, blogger loves.

So here’s the question: What alternative software do you run on your home computer? Instead of Outlook for email do you use Pegasus? Instead of Microsoft Office do you use Open Office? Firefox instead of Explorer? Linux instead of Mac OSX? etc?

Again for those with attention disorders and the inability to move your eyes up about 8 lines…

What alternative software do you run on your home computer?

Some of the alternative programs I use are: Seamonkey for my web-browser, Thunderbird for email, AbiWord for reading/writing Word documents and Foxit Reader to view Adobe PDFs.

Shannon: as long as it works you're doing great!
Gweep: funny, Conan, funny.
Chris: I actually prefer Photoshop Elements for graphics than any other free or pay software. And since you can get Elements for $30-40 on the web you really can't go wrong with that. Also, I don't usually run applications on a system that need anything else to run but the OS (unlike Paint .NET)

Alternative software for an alternative life-style, Special K. The only way the pic's meaning could have been clearer is if it slapped the bejesus out of you when it popped up on your monitor! :p

As to your Dell being pretty, sorry but that's the gray ones you're thinking about. The plain black ones are >:XXing booooring... zzzz...
