Into the Blogosphere: Day 18

A lot of people that care to ask are quickly apprised of my loathing for Reality Shows, aka reality television. You know, total garbage like Real World, Survivor and TV news in general. Well, the Universe as others know is pretty quick to alter itself to my wants and needs because somewhere, sometime I was nice to it and like a happy puppy it’s eager to please me (except for Scott Baio’s continued presence on the boob tube.)

So before too long I found myself watching shows like Top Chef (Season 2), Deadliest Catch and American Chopper. Shows that miraculously came into existence straight from the Universe to my TV set. To fill the Universe’s need to make me happy. Sure, there was all the good sci-fi and other great shows like Buffy, Angel, SG-1, Stargate: Atlantis and Galactica that every true geek watches, but it’s nice to know how the other half lives. Except with quality reality programming instead of the insipid schlock a lot of you yutzes out there are used to staring at.

With that said, thank you Universe! Until next want…

I loathe reality shows. They are full of insipid judges who want to lord it over the contestants (Try American Idol, that tripe is still on). That being said, I must admit to you oh master of the blog, you got me hooked on the new Battlestar Galatica on Sci-Fi Channel. :p And other shows that I watch are Smallville (What can I say? I'm a Superman fan). The Night Stalker (Both the old one and the new one). There are no others I can think of at the moment Vinnie.

I too watch the Smallville. How can a geek not watch a superman series? It's in our genetic code. Good to hear you're liking the Galactica. Night Stalker was a great show, hmmm, let's not forget the old classics like Buck Rogers in the 25th Century and the original Battlestar Galactica as well.

You don't have to just list reality shows ;)

I've watched Good Eats but enjoy way more Anthony Bourdaine's No Reservations on the Travel Channel. I wonder if it's just that he's a NYer... love his 'tude. House will be one series I'll catch via DVD, Hugh Lorie is a fine actor; loved his English comedies like Black Addder. I watch Mythbusters too, tim, fun fun fun!

Don't watch Fox Reality TV Channel. It must be the worst channel I have ever seen on the tube. That being said, anyone catch the latest reality show on the Sci-Fi channel, Ghost Hunters. Funny and strange to say the least. Now let's not leave out Special K's favorite shows. C'mon jump in here and comment Special K! :P
