Two weeks after my Nano and I returned from New York, my Favorite Aunt and Uncle in the Whole Wide World™ came here to Vegas for a visit. Even though it was a mere fortnight since seeing them in NYC, the wait was excruciating; I really don’t know how I made it without basking in their presence for that long. See, these two are beyond gold to me, seriously. In some families there are relatives that are special, admired for their kindness, loving personalities and their warm spirit. I’d post a picture I snapped of them while they were relaxing on our couch but my aunt described in great detail exactly how she’d slowly pull out my intestines and make Dying Dipshit soup. ![]()
We all had a great time storming all over Vegas with my Favorite Aunt and Uncle in the Whole Wide World and I got a LOT of great, free meals. Which isn’t why I love when I’m with them, but I do love have room in my heart to love them a slight bit more with all that free grub.
When I was staying in their crib in NYC, I noticed my Favorite Uncle in the Whole Wide World had purchased a new, very cool, Hi-Def television set (one without vacuum tubes)! Upon watching it for a while I realized that even though his cable service gave him HD programming, the picture wasn’t being displayed in HD - just regular old blurry non-HD fuzziness that most of the world (myself included) enjoys. Which is a travesty that his Favorite Nephew in the Whole Wide World (I hope) must inspect and correct! The cause of the problem was quickly spotted, there was no HDMI cable. After asking him why he doesn’t have said cable, he told me that the store wanted to charge him $50 for it so he didn’t get it.
I HATE stores that do that whole stupid gouge the customer with those insanely over-priced HDMI Monster-type cables! It’s inexcusable and a blatant freaking rip-off! And no one, I mean no one rips off my Favorite Uncle in the Whole Wide World! (Or my friends which is why I have 2 less these days)
So while they were up here visiting I ordered him an HDMI cable online and gave it to him. Man, was he was a tad shocked when I told him it was $1.98 for the 6′ HDMI cable (plus a whole $4.98 shipping = $5.98). And that wasn’t the end of the deals I got for him this trip here: a 1gig Toshiba SD card for his camera ($2.50) at Office Max as well as giving him enough spare RAM stick’s (free) to double his computer’s memory! (I have plenty lying around)
A few days ago, after my Favorite Aunt and Uncle in the Whole Wide World left, I got a call from my uncle and he told me how wonderful the picture looks now on his HDTV, (now that it’s displaying HDTV) and that he’s a very, very happy boy.
*sniff* We’re all so proud of me *sniff*
