Vinnie,

Happy thanksgiving to you too. I got a new Logitech keyboard for my slightly new (bought this pc in nov. 2006) pc. Will not install my copy of Windows Vista Ultimate until SP1 or SP2 comes out for Windows Vista. I know, I know, should've learned my lesson with Windows XP, but the bright, shiny Windows Vista features called out "buy me, buy me!" and so like a lemming, I bought a copy like all early adopters. Now onto the next project, to finish my novel by May 27, 2008. Yes Vinnie, I'm writing a novel, pick up your jaw from the floor, and no, it's not about dancing girls. It will be a fantasy novel (maybe a children's book, maybe not. Depends on how the novel goes in development). Please Vinnie, if you find a good deal in Vegas, try to find a HDTV/FM Radio PCI Capture card for XP/Windows Vista for me. If I get to Vegas this year, I may let you know which hotel we will be staying in, so you can stop by and say hello.

Glad you had a good turkey day Shannon. The IT industry as a whole are mostly avoiding Vista right now due to increased costs in hardware, memory and as yet unresolved stability issues. Good luck on the book; sounds great despite the lack of dancing gurls... as to HDTV capture cards and all, despite using PCs to capture/edit video and TV for years set top boxes like PVRs/DVRs do it easier and better in my opinion. Definitely let me know if you ever hit town and a meetup sounds great!

Chris: I always advise the consumption of dead turkeys as opposed to live ones! Glad that you were immersed in family and had a good time. My parents and I opted for some nice quiet alone time this turkey day. We had a ham with mashed potatoes, gravy and corn. We're usually knee deep in family and friends every year as we do thanksgiving big time with turkey and all the trimmings and lots of people but quiet was good this year. Xmas will rock as usual and we'll be more rested :D

*gasp* how could you insinuate that I'd photoshop my beloved $15 aibo! First, I hunted down a real wild turkey following the Dick Cheney Hunting with Honor Methodology (sans shooting an "innocent" lawyer). Upon pulling the carcass out of the cage it was in, I field dressed the fowl beast and made the tail part of the costume for Lucky. Afterwards, I hopped on a plane and flew to Plymouth, Massachusetts where I then shot a Landing On Plymouth Rock Pilgrim re-enactor for the hat and gun part of the costume. Before anyone could chase me, I hopped a plane across the pond to London, England where I then took a 8x8' section of Astro Turf from Wembley stadium and flew back to my home in the States.

Unfortunately as I went to board the plane back to the good ole U S of A, it seems that Astro Turf, pilgrim hats, blunderbuss shotguns and turkey tails are now on the TSA's (Transportation Security Administration's) list of banned items so they took everything, including the period Kentucky Longrifle and Indian garb I wore when I shot the pilgrim at the re-enactment at Plymouth rock (that's why no one noticed the slaying, they thought it was part of the act)!

Lucky for me, I took photos of all the items needed for Lucky's costume so I took the pic after stitching all the items in Jasc's Paint Shop Pro, so you see I did NOT Photoshop Lucky to make his Turkey Day pic. Nyah!

Glad you had a good turkey day, and thanks on noticing that very important count-down that's now on the upper left of my blog. 'Tis the Holiday Season... ho-ho-ho! :>

PS. That pic of Bill and the turkey is real. No editing. |-|

Vinnie,

What will you do for Christmas? Dress Lucky in a Santa suit? or Claudia Schiffer in a sexy Santa suit? Now as for the Paint Shop Pro, is it Free or does it cost money?
November 27, 2007 @ 07:17AM
Bruce! Always good ta see ya, dude! Happy T-Day back atcha!

blue: you sir, are a bastard. No, his outfit is a 100% authentic digitally photo'd recreation. >:( So there. Again.

Shannon: I will open presents given to me by friends and family for Xmas :D. To do otherwise would be ungrateful. However, I'm not above putting Claudia Schiffer in a Lucky suit... Paint Shop Pro used to be a cheaper-priced (< $99) alternative to Photoshop but over the years it became higher price and ludicrous after the introduction of Photoshop Elements. It was bought out by Corel and is now pretty much irrelevant (not to be confused w/elephant) now.
