Best Mom Ever!

Best Mom Ever
Anyone who knows my mother knows what an exceptionally fun, unique and wonderful person she is. And anyone who knows me knows how much I love her. She is and will always be my favorite person in the whole universe and that’s the way it should be. While I don’t talk about my family much here, I just have to share with you all just how wonderful she is. There is no scale or number big enough to gauge how much I and many others love her. As people who meet her can tell you, the universe pales in comparison to this compact 5′ 1″ woman/force of nature. A tell-it-like-it-is New Yorker, you’re never confused about how she feels about you. She’s generous to those that deserve it, as well as quick to hit someone in the head when they’re acting stupid. Honest, funny and embodying life incarnate, this little troll as I lovingly call her is THE. BEST. MOM. EVER!

My mom has helped many people throughout the years; as has our entire family. We all believe in helping others and cannot stand those who treat their fellows unkindly, or use people. Mom’s the soul and the spirit of our family and is the best example of a generous, kind soul. With a wicked, terrible bite even worse then her HUGE bark (amazing coming from such a teeny-tiny person). :)

There is no greater person than my Mom, but there are many that are taller. Later, History would record that she did everything her way, did everything she wanted when she wanted. If you were stupid enough to interfere, or get in her way, she ran over you with a smile. And it hurt. And you didn’t even think of getting in her way ever again (insurance companies wouldn’t cover you). If anyone doubts the biblical account of David and Goliath, everyone who knows my mom would tell you that Goliath would be a sobbing wreck after just a few seconds of Mom chastising him. She’s a titan. A short titan, but a titan nevertheless.

Unfortunately we lost my Mom, this force of nature last month, 2 weeks before Christmas. In the end she went gently into that good night, but, as ever, on her own terms. Surrounded by family and friends and celebrated by all for the wonderful person she is and was, hers was a light that shone her own way to the heavens. While we are sorry and there are those that are in disbelief that such an alive person could be gone, we celebrate her life and take endless joy that she did not pass because of hatred, violence, a tragic accident or someone’s mistake. She didn’t suffer, she went as every great lady should. Peacefully.

I love you, Mom! :D
Sister. Daughter. Friend. Wife of 45 years. BEST MOM EVER!
