One of the best thing an übergeek loves to do is to find great bargains on computer equipment/tech gadgets/anything shiny; and thanks to the Net, it’s pretty easy to pick up that shiny new tech at rock-bottom prices.
Oh sure, übergeeks are at the forefront of technology but that doesn’t mean you have always have to pay a steep premium for staying light years ahead of the Jones’.
To do my übergeek shopping, I use quite a few sites to save a lot of dough but here are the ones at the top of my list:
Vinny’s Top 5 Bargain Hunting Sites for all Your Ubergeek Needs:
1. Slickdeals.net is my top shopping site for all my tech gadgets. Their main page is laid out quite nice unlike most of their competitors and the deal-hunters that frequent there are, in my opinion, second to none. Hundreds of new deals posted a day. And they have one of the best tech help message areas around.
2. Fatwallet.com is another great site where, like Slickdeals, the user community is fantastic at saving you big $$$ on your computer and gadget purchases. Click the HOT DEALS or the FORUMS tab for a quick list of the hottest deals the users there can find.
3. Techbargains.com lists a lot of deals and they have nice pictures to help your eyes as you scroll through but I really don’t think they’re better than #1 and #2 on my list. More of a supplement.
4. SalesCircular.com is a tremendous resource. Want to know what stores in your local area have anything computer/tech related on sale? Even electronic gear like phones, refrigerators, and who advertises the best cellular phone deals in your area? Then say no more and start clicking the link.
5. Lastly, Pricewatch.com is a pretty good no-nonsense site to sift through all those online and bricks and mortar stores that sell all your favorite gadgets. Best when you want to go through a lot of entries in a short time for a certain product. While it’s saved me good money in the past, it’s more of a seller’s listing than anything so beware, you’ll probably save more using the sites above this one since your fellow consumer is looking out for you.
While not a Tech Deal aggregator site itself, Newegg.com has some fantastic deals but to me it’s best resource is the product reviews done by people that actually bought the thing. Using Newegg to check what people are saying about deals from the above sites helped me a lot in deciding when to pull the trigger, so they get an honorable mention here.
With that list out of the way, Happy Future Geek Purchases fellow ubergeeks!
Well, that’s it for now. So, what are your favorite deal sites?
Because of my Computer/Tech Julie & Julia challenge, I submitted this site to Technorati, a search engine for blogs and technology posts. They want me to put in a code in a post to verify the blog and I don’t want to toss it haphazardly, so here it is Technorati - in it’s very own post. Technorati Claim Token 3DAJV3FDEUMG
You can’t do it better than that. So verify already…
