One of the best ways for a long time to search for any kind of image was Google Image Search. Whether you were looking for specific wallpaper, images to have fun and manipulate or find any type of picture your heart desired, the best way was to use Google Image Search hands down.
Until now.
Bing’s Image Search is miles and miles better. First, you can easily change the layout of the image thumbnails. Second, in the left hand column you will get related video and reference articles on the image you’re searching. Let’s say you’re searching for images of Darth Vader. Not only do you get thumbnail images of the Dark One™ but you have 2 convenient links on the left for videos featuring Vader or articles talking about just how evil that sonufa is.
There are more options on the left such as toggles for size, color or black & white image search filters but that’s not all. You also get a very convenient list of related images to search. In Vader’s case it lists Related Characters such as Luke Skywalker, Papa Palpatine and that wascally wabbit, Bobba Fett (he was probably named for feta cheese, the stinker).
But that’s not the best feature that’s leaps and bounds better than Google Image Search… Bing’s Image Search doesn’t stop at showing you 20 images like Google does and then forces you to keep clicking NEXT all the damned time. Bing keeps showing you an endless amount of images as you scroll down the page! There are no stupid NEXT links; to see more images, as long as there are some just keep scrolling down the page. No clicking. No waiting. Bing Image Search keeps tossing you images until you cry uncle or *gasp* find what you’re looking for.
Searching for images was never so fast or easy and the most surprising thing is Bing is Microsoft’s revamped search engine. After all these incarnations, they finally came up with something much better and easier to use than Google’s offering. At least when it comes to searching for images!
Bing! goes the image search. Who woulda thunk it?
