The one thing that most people don't realize is how powerful computers are. The hierarchy is: Desktops, laptops then netbooks in power. And since most laptops are far less powerful than desktops (you lose something shrinking everything down) netbooks in comparison are the weakest link. The form factor also isn't good with 10" average screens. And they're even more fragile than laptops which means they'll break a lot sooner. But hey, they're easy to carry!

People buy these things because they look cool without realizing the trade-offs and usually they quickly discard them and get a laptop or desktop because of the netbooks many shortcomings. They're the Edsels of the computing world.

I have a friend or two that own netbooks and my 14" widescreen Toshiba laptop kicks their butts and isn't that much bigger. You get what you pay for except with Macs ;)
